A Taking Care Advisory Group for the Republic of Ireland was set up in 2008. The aim of this group is to look at child protection issues specifically for congregations within the Republic of Ireland. This group is represented on the Taking Care Committee. Members of the group represent the Presbyteries of Donegal, Monaghan and Dublin. Meetings are held twice a year, usually in Monaghan.
The 2009 Training Roadshow and follow up training in 2010 came about as a result of the Advisory group. The Advisory Group is currently seeking a Taking Care Trainer for the Monaghan Presbytery and is considering a conference specifically for Presbyterians living in the Republic of Ireland.
