Taking care is a small yet dedicated team operating within the Board of Social Witness. You can view the profiles of the key staff members below.

Director of the Board of Social Witness, Lindsay Conway

Lindsay is a registered social worker, having worked in the Training School System and Juvenile Justice Board and been Director of Juvenile Justice and then Director of Custodial Development. Lindsay joined the Presbyterian Board of Social Witness in 2002. He is Clerk of Session of West Church Bangor - former Chair of the Simon Community and former Chairman and President of the National Council of YMCA’s. Lindsay is married to Norma, they have two grown up children and a dog called Bonnie.



Deborah studied at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland before completing her teacher training in Newcastle upon Tyne where she taught in a large inner city Primary school. Deborah worked at the Vine Centre, North Belfast as a family worker before joining the Board of Social Witness in 2006. Deborah lives in Greenisland with her husband, Lachlan and their daughter, Freya. In her spare time she enjoys walking, talking, cooking and eating chocolate.

Taking Care Administrator, Amanda Kyle

Amanda is a born and bred Ballymena girl. Amanda studied at Ballymena Academy and upon completing her education, went on to work with adults with learning disabilities, and later proceeded to a role in management, before coming to work in the Taking Care Office. Amanda has been actively volunteering in her church for the past 3 years with up to 200 children and young people every week. In those spare moments, Amanda enjoys writing on her online blog and visiting her favourite place - the zoo!

Taking Care Office Volunteer, Margaret Sterrett  

Margaret volunteers in the Taking Care Office on a weekly basis and is considered quite a life saver to us at the office. Margaret helps out by filing, making up packs for training and photocopying. As a member of Rosemary Presbyterian Church, Margaret serves as both an elder and a Bible club leader. Margaret is married to George and teaches crochet as a part time tutor in the Belfast Metropolitan College.
