
Thompson House
Thompson House is a hostel situated in Belfast. It is Probation Approved accommodation and is able to accommodate fifteen men. All referrals must be made by a Probation Officer and residents must be subject to Probation supervision. On entry into the hostel all residents are appointed a key worker who will assist the residents to resettle into the community and address any issues which have contributed to their offending behaviour.
THE MAIN AIMS OF THE HOSTEL ARE :
- TO PROVIDE SUITABLE ACCOMMODATION FOR MALE OFFENDERS;
- TO HELP RESIDENTS FIND AND RETAIN EMPLOYMENT;
- TO ENCOURAGE AND ASSIST RESIDENTS TO ESTABLISH THEIR OWN HOMES
- AND TO COMMEND THE CHRISTIAN FAITH AND WAY OF LIFE IN AN OPEN AND ACCEPTING MANNER.
There are nine full-time staff, a part-time cook supervisor and a part-time domestic supervisor. Thompson House also offers student placements to students studying for the degree in Social Work and offers placements to applicants for the Board of Social Witness volunteer scheme.
